Benchrest air rifle shooting is an ideal introduction discipline to target shooting and is the clubs favoured way to begin coaching. It is safe and very controlled. Participants sit at a purpose designed and built bench and although the rifle is not heavy it is rested on a mount forward of the shooter. This sport allows just about anyone, even those with a physical disability to take part and compete to the highest of standards. The club runs a four week introduction & coaching course to the sport and club where we show you the basics and we all get to know eachother, a try before you buy type of course! The course is a no obligation course and although you will be asked to fill in a club membership application form on your first visit this is purely for legal reasons. If at the end of the 4 week coaching period you decide it's not for you your application form will be destroyed. As with all our club disciplines probationary members must serve a 3 month probation period that time starts from the date on your membership application form. The course details can be found HERE.
