A fine day with a rather tricky little breeze made today’s Open Bench Rest Meeting both enjoyable and challenging, and there was some excellent and close shooting in all classes. We welcomed shooters from Paignton, Tiverton and Pinhoe as well as our own members, some of whom were shooting in an Open event for the first time.
Many thanks to those who helped with the running of the meeting - Stuart for scoring, Pete for acting as RCO, Sue and Amy for the refreshments, and other members who helped set up and take down the range; without the help given by everyone the event could not have taken place.
Full results are attached, and will also be displayed at Melbury later this week, as well as being emailed out to all the competitors.
Particular mention to Sue Rudman who won Class B air rifle with Steve Hutchins just 3 points behind; Mark Pomeroy who won Class A air rifle and Class B .22 rifle; Neil Rudkin who was second in Class A (.22), and two of our newer members, Malcolm Saunders and Neil Prideaux, who were first and second in Class C (.22). The biggest smile of the day belongs to Peter Parker-Brock, who scored his first “ton” in his first-ever competition !
And for those of you who were shooting in an Open for the first time, I hope you enjoyed your day and that the experience will stand you in really good stead for future events, well done all of you.
